Indika wins a triple crown
The Colombo Y.M.C.A. Masters and Veterans Table Tennis Tournament was
conducted on a grand scale recently at the YMCA Fort tables.

Former Sri Lanka player and eight-time national runner up Indika
Prasad won a triple crown while Former Sri Lanka player and national
champion Samantha Jayadeva won a double.
Three times national champion and number one veterans paddler Lalith
Priyantha won the over 40 men's singles while Rajiva Wijetunge who is
the only Sri Lankan table tennis player to win an individual medal at
the world masters games, won the men's over 50 singles title.
The only major upset in the tournament was created by Sarath
Wijesuriya when he beat top seed G.N. Lucas 3/0 in the semi finals.
Sarath also beat the bottom seed Fida Hussain in the finals 3/0.
