UPF pledges support to govt

The Upcountry People’s Front pledged their fullest support to the government and President Mahinda Rajapaksa following a meeting with the President at Temple Trees yesterday.

Upcountry People’s Front leader Chandani Chandrasekaran and party members met the President and appreciated the continuous support given by the government under President Rajapaksa’s leadership to the people in the country.

“The President is very keen to develop the upcountry region and look after the welfare facilities of the people,” she said.

“Therefore, as an appreciation of the service rendered by the President for the upcountry region and its people, the party took this decision,” she pointed out.

Meanwhile, Parliamentarian V.S. Radhakrishnan said that all the ministers elected under the Upcountry People’s Front ticket will support the President and UPFA government together with the members.
