Minister orders probe

Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayanth has directed Petroleum Corporation chairman Harry Jayawardena to conduct an immediate inquiry into an incident where low quality petrol had been imported and distributed.

Minister Premajayanth acting on reports that three-wheelers and motor-bicycles were not functioning after using this low quality petrol, had instructed Jayawardena to take samples of this low quality petrol from filling stations and to report immediately after completing tests.
