Special police division for expressways

Traffic policemen will be recruited soon from the traffic police to the special Police Division that would be set up to handle traffic on expressways.

Traffic policemen representing the new division were to be recruited for duty in the Southern Expressways from Kottawa to Pinnaduwa which is to be opened for transport next month.

The government decided to set up a special police division to handle traffic on the expressways. According to the police, a new division is required since traffic regulations on the expressways are different from normal traffic laws.
