CPC lacks facilities to sell its products
Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha yesterday stated in
Parliament that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation did not have filling
facilities and empty gas cylinders to commence selling of CPC produced
LPG.
The Minister further stated that the capacity to produce LPG at the
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation was limited to meet 12 percent of the
demand of the country, adding that the CPC also lacked the facilities to
import the balance requirement for the country.
The Minister made this observation in response to a question raised
by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake.
