MP Azwer apologises for mentioning wrong name

UPFA member A H M Azwer, yesterday apologized in Parliament for making a mistake on Tuesday by mentioning the name of Prabhakaran, instead of Thamil Chelwam by saying that the wife and children of Prabhakaran were well looked after, after his death.

He made this observation in Parliament by raising a privilege matter by stating that the speech made by him was misquoted by certain sections of the media.

MP Azwer further stated that he had intended to say that the wife and children of late Thamil Chelwam were well looked after.

He added that he admitted that he had made a mistake by mentioning the name of Prabhakaran instead of Thamil Chelwam.
