Tourism, hospitality management:
Training programmes for lecturers

The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) will
conduct training programmes for the benefit of lecturers who are
conducting courses on tourism and hospitality management.
The first programme on 'Pedagogy and Training Methodology' will be
conducted at the SLITHM premises from July 4 to 18, said SLITHM Director
General Dr D A C Suranga Silva.
This programme will be conducted by specialist consultants from the
Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The programme was planned under the Tourism and Resources Improvement
Project (TRIP). Funds will be provided by the Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Under the project, it is planned to upgrade the capacity of the
lecturers who are conducting courses on Tourism and Hospitality
Management.
Those who are interested should forward their applications through
their training institutes to reach Director General, Sri Lanka Institute
of Tourism and Hotel Management, No 78, Galle Road, Colombo 3, on or
before June 29.
The training institute should be a registered institution authorized
to conduct Tourism and Hospitality related training programs.
