Arms haul in brothel

Panadura Walana anti vice-squad officers Saturday raided a brothel run under the guise of an ayurveda massage clinic on the second floor of a hotel in Bambalapitiya and arrested seven suspects including five women employed.

Officers also seized a 9 mm pistol, a magazine and cartridge, a shot gun and 23 cartridges and a stock of 742 condoms from the room occupied by the male owner of the outfit.

The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the Bambalapitiya police for legal action.

They were due to be produced before the Aluthkade Magistrate Court No. 2 yesterday.
