Another 500 ex-LTTEers to be reintegrated into society

The government will reintegrate another batch of 500 former LTTE combatants into society next week. According to Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe, these former LTTE combatants underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation programme.

He said these individuals have been selected from all rehabilitation centres of the country, including, Jaffna, Vavuniya and Polonnaruwa. Up to now around 7,416 individuals have been released. 3,512 persons are being rehabilitated in eight rehabilitation centres. These centres are situated in Polonnaruwa, Vavuniya and Jaffna districts.
