Poson Zone in Kilinochchi

The Kilinochchi Security Forces Headquarters organized a Poson Zone at the Kilinochchi public grounds to mark the arrival of Arahanth Mahinda Thera to Sri Lanka as well as the 2600th Sri Sambuddathva Jayanthi.

The Zone was held on June 15 and 16 with the participation of a large crowd. A replica of Mihintale, a Poson pandal depicting Vidura Jathakaya, bakthi gee and stage dramas were among the attractions.

An officer from the Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi, said that a dansala was organized to provide meals to devotees and visitors. He added that the Poson Zone was organized under the direction of Security Forces Commander Kilinochchi Major General Nandana Udawatta. People from Kilinochchi, Mankulam, and Pooneryn participated in the Poson celebrations.
