Attack on TNA Parliamentarians:
Defence Secy orders probe, action against attackers
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa directed
Jaffna Army Commander Major General Mahinda Haturusinghe to inquire
into an incident where a group of Tamil National Alliance (TNA)
Parliamentarians was attacked while attending a meeting and to take
into custody those who were involved and punish them.

‘Channel 4 video, the work of asylum seekers’ - Army

The Sri Lanka Army yesterday said the video of
alleged extra judicial killings telecast by Channel 4 on British
television is doctored and that its footage may have been invented
by some self-exiled Tamil citizens seeking asylum in the UK.

Two nabbed with stolen car
Two suspects were arrested by Piliyandala Police
with a stolen car valued at Rs 2.8 million. The police made the
arrest on the Piliyandala Road on Monday while one of the suspects
was driving the stolen motor car. Police investigations revealed
that the two suspects had stolen the motor car from a leasing
company at Boralesgamuwa about one month ago.
