Ceremony to celebrate Chinese Communist Party’s 90th anniversary

A ceremony to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party
of China will be held at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of
International Relations and Strategic Studies, Colombo at 3.00 pm today.
The event is organized by the Association for Sri Lanka-China Social
and Cultural Cooperation (ASLCSCC). To coincide with the anniversary the
ASLCSCC has organized a number of events including the launch of a book,
screening of a documentary film, poetry and essay competition for both
school goers and adults and presenting an award to the Chinese
ambassador in Sri Lanka.
Western Province Governor Alavi Mowlana will be the chief guest and
Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiuping would be the guest of honour.
Senior Minister and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sri
Lanka D.E.W. Gunasekera would participate as a special distinguished
guest.
The commemorative speech would be delivered by Information Department
Information Director Wasantha Priya Ramanayaka. |
