'The first batch of university freshers who completed the leadership
and positive thinking development training programme should face for an
online English and IT placement test during the next 10 days from today,
Higher Education Ministry Secretary Dr Sunil Navaratne told the Daily
News yesterday.
He said that the test will be conducted in 26 centres islandwide.
About 9,000 students are expected to sit for the test.
The students are requested to visit www.nodes.lk to find out the
venue, time and date of their exam by entering their NIC numbers in the
separate link given in the top left corner of the web site. Dr Navaratne
said that the online test will have two papers for IT and English with
one hour for each paper.
He said that the results will be given to the students on the spot.
The students will be categorized into three levels, namely, weak, medium
and advanced. 'Those who belong to advanced level are exempted from the
course since they have sufficient IT and English knowledge to the level
that we expect he observed.
The three month IT and English course will commence for the first
batch of university freshers around July 10-15 in selected islandwide
centres including schools.
'The second batch of university students will undergo the same
process soon after their completion of ongoing leadership training
programme,' he said. |
