Kingswood maintains fine form, beat Wesley 36-17

Kingswood College Kandy maintained their impressive record this season when they defeated traditional rivals Wesley College by 36 points to 17 points in their Singer inter school Under 20 Division One League rugby tournament match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.

Kingswood also went on to register their second successive victory while collecting their points from three goals and three tries after having built up a commanding 21-10 lead at half time.

The Wesleyites despite showing early promise managed to score only two goals and a penalty as they crashed to their sixth defeat from eight outings this season.

Kingswood College got their act together well from the kick off and made certain that there will be no contest at the end by scoring three splendid tries within the opening twenty minutes of play.

The visitors kept the pressure on the opposition in the second half as well and added three more tries to their tally.

Wesley of course put up an improved performance in the second half while scoring twice to reduce the margin.

But Kingswood College were really on the rampage in the second half despite conceding two tries as they went on to complete their fifth victory in the league tournament.
