Six arrested in garment factory robbery

Six suspects involved in the robbery of yarn valued at Rs 790,000 from a garment factory in the Biyagama Free Trade Zone were arrested by Biyagama police. Police also recovered Rs 600,000 worth of yarn.

Four of the six suspects are workers of the factory.

The yarn were transported in a lorry belonging to the factory and the driver and helper were also taken into custody.

The suspects were produced in the Gampaha Magistrate Courts yesterday.
