J’pura undergrad remanded in threatening case

An undergraduate of the Sri Jayawardenapura University was remanded until June 16 for allegedly threatening the Vice Chancellor with bodily harm. He had been arrested following a complaint made by the Sri Jayawardenapura University Vice Chancellor.

The undergraduate had been produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court last Friday in connection with a ragging incident as well. He had earlier been produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate on eight occasions on charges of damaging buildings and assaulting university security officers, Mirihana Police said.
