Marketing Guru calls on President


A delegation of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing including world famous Marketing Guru Professor Philip Kotler, presently on tour in Sri Lanka called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Saturday.Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga was also present on the occasion.

Cultural Day

Learnium International School will hold its 3rd Cultural Day under the patronage of Education Minister Bandula Gunawardana at the school premises 945/8a, Morris Rajapakse Mawatha, Ethul Kotte on June 9 at 10.00 am.

The third Cultural day has been organized in four parts.


NCP CM takes oath as new minister

North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake took his oath also as the Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Animal Health, Women’s Affairs and Provincial Council Affairs, in addition to the subjects he is already in charge of, on June 3, before North Central Province Governor Karunaratne Divulgane. The Ministry fell vacant as Provincial Minister K H Nandasena has gone abroad.


Drifted fishermen produced before Magistrate

Four fishermen have drifted to Nainathivu from Mandapam on Monday at 6 a.m. due to a strong gale and were produced at Kayts Magistrate’s Court.

The Kayts Magistrate has remanded them. The fishermen who set out fishing were caught in a gale and their boat capsized in the sea. They managed to swim to reach Nainathivu.


Batticaloa mourns

The remains of the seven persons who drowned in the Kottaikallaru lagoon in Batticaloa on Saturday were buried at the Kottaikallaru cemetery.
