New CEB Board today

Power and Energy Minister Champika Ranawaka will appoint a new chairman and Board of Directors to the Ceylon Electricity Board today.

The minister will appoint a new chairman and a vice chairman and the rest of the Board today while the new General Manager will be appointed on Wednesday, a ministry spokesman told the Daily News last night.

The names of the new chairman and the new Board along with the name of the General Manager were not known and were at the discussion stage as this edition went to press.

Earlier, trade union action was triggered by an engineer being interdicted which sparked off the CEB Engineers Union to adopt a work to rule campaign from 8 am to 4.30 pm.
