Appointed Senior DIG Central Province

Uva Province DIG M. N. B. Ambanwela has been appointed as Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Central Province. He was due to assume duties in the Central Province Senior DIG’s office in Kandy today.

Ambanwela joined the police service in 1980 as a sub Inspector of Police and was promoted in 1985 to a position of Apprentice Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He served in various positions of the police service in areas such as Tangalle, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Jaffna, Trincomalee and Badulla prior to his appointment as Uva Province Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police.
