Exam cheats pay price

The Examinations Department yesterday said that results of 610 students who sat for the 2010 GCE Ordinary Level examination, have been announced invalid, following investigations on 6,804 candidates who were suspected to have cheated at the examination.

Examinations Commissioner Anura Edirisinghe said that the students were found guilty of impersonating, producing fake proof of identity and copying.

Investigations on the suspects initiated last month by the Investigations Branch of the Examinations Department.
