Court orders SLC elections
The Supreme Court yesterday directed the Sports
Minister and the Sri Lanka Cricket officials to discuss at length
and come to a final conclusion to conduct elections to elect
officials for Sri Lanka Cricket. The final decision of the Sri Lanka
Cricket had to be informed to the Supreme Court through a motion to
the Court on or before July 6, 2011.

Sehwag out of IPL, Windies tour
Prolific opener Virender Sehwag was Monday ruled
out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League with a shoulder
injury, depriving the event of its current top scorer. Sehwag,
captain of the Delhi Daredevils franchise, has decided to undergo
surgery as soon as possible and could also miss India’s tour of the
West Indies starting next month.

Junior Tennis stars for Malaysia
The Sri Lanka’s under 14 Girls Tennis team left
the island to participate in the Girl’s World Junior Tennis
Championships’ Asia/Oceania qualifying round matches to be played in
Malaysia. The tournament commenced yesterday and will continue till
May 14 at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association Center.
