The Sri Lanka Ports Authority will award proposals for 13 investors
who have submitted project proposals seeking Cabinet approval to
initiate new ventures at the Magampura Port this month.
Magampura Port Chief Engineer Agil Hewageegana said new ventures to
be initiated by 13 investors in the Magampura Port will generate US $ 1
billion revenue.
“With more investments in cement grinding, warehousing, sugar
refinery, petro chemical, fertilizer and other investment areas, we hope
that more cargo projects will be received since all cargo to be brought
from foreign countries will reach the Magampura Port and this will be a
decisive factor to earn higher income for the Ports Authority,”
Hewageegana said.
