Rs 1.5 billion ultra modern factory complex:

Pelwatte milk powder plant opens May 15

To cut down annual milk powder import bill:

Pelwatte Dairy Industries will commission its state- of-the-art Rs 1.5 billion powdered milk plant in Moneragala, on May 15. The factory which has the most modern machines imported from Denmark has a daily production capacity of 10 tonnes of milk powder while also processing 180,000 litres of liquid milk, PDI Chairman Ariyaseela Wickremanayake told Daily News Business yesterday.

Laugfs Holdings will diversify into the education sector in the phase of tremendous opportunities in higher education. “We will be consolidating our presence in the Sri Lankan market and will be entering the education sector in the near future, Laugfs Holdings Chairman W.K. CEPA can benefit Lanka if properly drafted - Exporter

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)has to be a win-win situation for Sri Lanka and India. Speaking on the Role of Professionals in Safeguarding Sri Lanka interests in CEPA with India, KIK Lanka Chairman Lalith Kahatapitiya said it should be transparent and have the approval of responsible people of the country before signing the agreement.
