Jubiliation at Ground Zero for bin Laden’s downfall

Incident took place in a compound in Pakistan:

Thousands flocked to Ground Zero to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the devastating September 11 attacks on New York nearly 10 years ago. New York’s police chief Raymond Kelly called the death of bin Laden a “welcome milestone” for the families of the 3,000 victims of the 2001 strikes by Al-Qaeda. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he hoped bin Laden’s death would bring “closure and comfort” to the September 11 families.

Israel hails death of Osama bin Laden

Israeli leaders Monday hailed the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden at the hands of US forces, with the prime minister congratulating the United States on “a victory for justice.” “The state of Israel joins together in the joy of the American people after the liquidation of Bin Laden,” said a statement from the Premier’s office.
