Stand united to defeat int’l machinations

People of this country should stand united behind the government to defeat the machinations of international forces arraigned against the motherland as they did during the humanitarian operations to defeat terrorism, asserted the Malwatte and Asgiriya Prelates when Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa called on them at their temples in Kandy and received their blessings.

The Mahanayaka Theras in their anusasana said that all steps taken by the government and the people to defeat conspiracies hatched against Sri Lanka by various international forces would always receive the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

The Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle who briefed the media about the audience the Defence Secretary had with the Malwatte and Asgiriya Prelates said the Defence Secretary briefed the two prelates about the report made by the UN Secretary General’s Advisory panel. The two prelates highly appreciated and acclaimed the services rendered by the Defence Secretary in defeating terrorism and rebuilding the nation. Presidential Co-ordinator on Religious Affairs Ven. Getamanne Gunanda Thera, Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa and Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara accompanied the Defence Secretary during the visit.
