Today, the hills in Diyatalawa will reverberate to the roar of
engines when the 19th edition of the Fox Hill Super Cross concludes at
the home of the Sri Lanka Military Academy.

The championship will also signal that the 2011 battle for motor
racing glory has begun in earnest.
More than 200 drivers and riders will vie for honours today,
including five foreigners, three riders and two drivers, are also
gearing up to give the maximum thrill to more than 50,000 spectators who
are expected to be present at this beautiful venue at the Sri Lanka
Military Academy.
Organized by the Academy and the Sri Lanka Association of Racing
Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR), this year’s Fox Hill Supercross comprises
13 motor car and 17 motor cycle events including the championship races
which will be taken into account in awarding the CEAT-SLARDAR
Championship trophies to the country’s top drivers and riders at the end
of the 2011 racing season.
The Championship races are Group SL- GT – upto 3500 cc, Group SL- H -
upto 1600 cc in the motor car category and Group MX - Racing Motocross
bikes upto 125 cc 2-Stroke; upto 250 cc 4-Stroke and Group MX - Racing
Motocross bikes upto 85 cc (Under 16 years as at 31 December 2011) in
the motor cycle category.
Truck and Jeep Diesel upto 5500 cc and Super Motard upto 250 cc
(2-stroke and 4-stroke) and cars upto 1500 cc in the special motor car
category are among the other popular races that are expected to add to
the thrills and enjoyment of the competition. According to SLARDAR
President Yoga Perera, the challenging 2km Fox Hill race track is among
the fastest and most testing in the country and is perfect for a major
racing event as it also offers a great view for spectators. “We expect a
few records to be broken this year and this event guarantees some of the
best of motor racing of the year,” he said.
CEAT Sri Lanka is a special sponsor of the event and The Fox Hill
Supercross 2011 is also supported by Browns and Elephant House as
special sponsors of the event, and co-sponsored by BOC, Sri Lanka
Telecom, Douglus and Sons Ltd, Singer Sri Lanka and AKZO-nobel and
Paints.
