‘Developing villages, govt’s main aim’
Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that politicians
of all parties should reach a consensus to bring development to the
villages regardless of political ideologies.
“This is the Government’s priority,” he said.
The Minister made these observations while participating in the
opening of electricity extension lines to Udakadawala Buddhist monastery
on Monday with UNP Panduwasnuwara Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekera.
This project was co-funded by Environment Minister Anura
Priyadarshana Yapa and UNP parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekera through
their budgetary allocations. Minister Yapa added that the cooperation
between him and the UNP parliamentarian Jayasekera resulted in the
successful completion of this project and it sets and example to the
people in villages to shed petty differences and work for the country’s
development. |
