The Thammenna wewa Govi Samithi Chairman J J Munasinghe said, “the driving force behind the project were Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa”.

Meanwhile, the Tissamaharama sacred city development programme will soon be under way with the development of the road complex, water supply project, and electricity supply, setting up of pilgrims rests and common amenities, vehicle park, flower stalls, library facilities and protective fences.

The Department National Physical Planning has drawn up the plan for the sacred city.
