Kegalle Marians retain Mano Wijeratne Trophy

St Mary's College, Kegalle retained the Mano Wijeratne Trophy when they beat Kegalu Vidyalaya by 61 runs on the parabola system in their 19th limited over game.

St Mary's College have now won 11 matches against 5 by Kegalu Vidyalaya.

The Marians winning the toss and taking first strike made 214 for 9 in 50 overs. Malinda Gunaratne scored 49 with 6 fours.

Kegalu Vidyalaya chasing a victory target of 215 were stalled by bad light when they were on the brink of defeat, making 133 for 9 in 41 overs.

Using the parabola system, Marians were declared winners on a faster run rate, by 61 runs.

Malinda Gunaratne of St Mary's College won the Man of the Match award.
