Military intervention in Libya :
Bolivia rejects UN decision
BOLIVIA: Bolivian President Evo Morales rejected the decision
of the United Nations and its Security Council to endorse military
action in Libya.
At a press conference, Morales condemned the measure and the bombing
of Tripoli, which has caused thousands of civilian casualties.
For Morales, the UN Security Council is an insecurity council that
must change its name to the Board of invasion and bombing.
Morales stressed that the internal problems of countries should be
solved by their own people and not by foreign interventions that violate
the rights and sovereignty of peoples.
Morales also considered the attack on Libya by NATO, involving
European countries and the United States, as a disrespect for human
rights and self-determination of peoples.
Morales added that the intervention in Libya does not have the goal
of peace, but to take control of oil, to deliver it to the
transnationals.
