Lancashire University in Rs 5 billion project

Focused on entrepreneurial needs:

The construction of the first research based UK university in Sri Lanka is expected to commence this year on a 200 acre land. The project will have Rs 35 billion transaction value and create more than 3,000 employment opportunities other than academic jobs.

Commodity exchange process underway

The introduction of the commodity exchange to Sri Lanka’s capital market is at an early stage. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) and proposals for the establishment and operation of a fully fledged multi asset class commodity exchange.
