Jana Sevana program gets GA nod

All Government Agents have expressed their desire to participate in the one million houses Jana Sevana program.

At the monthly meeting of Government Agents at the Sri Lanka Development Administration Institute on Thursday, all Government Agents pledged their support for the housing program to Construction, Engineering Services, Houses and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa. Decisions were also taken at the meeting to draw up special programs to settle land conflicts at Divisional Secretariat Division level and reintroduce District Houses Development Committees.

Minister Weerawansa said that on the advice of President Mahinda Rajapaksa it had been decided to set up an Inter Ministerial Committee to make the one million houses program a success.

The Minister said that action will be taken to construct 336,000 houses at the rate of two houses per month for each of the Grama Seva Division.
