Lyceum Wattala excels for the 3rd consecutive year
The 10th Inter International Schools under 13 cricket tournament
organized by the Lyceum International schools, Nugegoda was held
recently. Fifteen International Schools took part in this tournament.

The final match was held on 20 March, at the Lyceum Wattala Grounds.
Lyceum Wattala and Gateway College played in the final match. Lyceum
International school wattala won the toss and let Gateway to bat first.
Gateway could score 145 Runs in 40 overs Helitha Bambaranda 60, Ashfaaq
Mistha 18 runs for Gateway.
In reply Lyceum International School Wattala scored 146 runs for the
loss of 3 wickets in 29.4 overs to won the match by 7 wickets. Sasanka
Dilshan 61 (not out) of Wattala.
The former National Cricketer and present under 15 and 17 Sri Lanka
Cricket coach Roger Wijesuriya was the chief guest at the final. LIS
Wattala became Champions in 2009,2010 and in 2011 for the third
consecutive year. The team was coached by Lalith de Silva and Manjula

Best Bowler of the Tournament – Pavith Janadh (Lyceum, Wattala), Best
Player of the Final – Sasanka Dilshan (Lyceum, Wattala), Best Player of
the Series – Pavith Janadh (Lyceum, Wattala), Best fielder of the
Tournament – Ashfaag Mistha (Gateway College) Colombo. |
