The Sri Lanka Army devoting their life, valiantly treading over
landmines and boldly confronting the cannons of the enemies pulverized
terrorism so as the people of this country live without any fear of
their lives.
Such an Army now sell coconut and vegetables to the people as a
further step in providing humanitarian services to the masses. They are
protecting the people from the clutches of traders who sell the
essential food items on exorbitant prices.
The Opposition, apparently moved by these services of the Army to the
people, tries to send a message to the people that the army is degraded
from their elated position after defeating terrorism. Did not the UNP
decades ago made use of the army to till the land? Obviously, the
Opposition tries to take even this opportunity to kindle the fire of
abhorrence in the bosoms of the peace loving citizens of this country.

At the last Presidential Election, people of Sri Lanka elected the
current President with an overwhelming majority. In keeping with the
trust placed in him, he has wiped out the LTTE menace and unified the
nation. For this task, the three Armed forces and the Police Service
gave their support to the President.
The end result is there are no suicide bombers and no explosions, and
all are living peacefully in a united Sri Lanka.
In spite of all these achievements, some are blaming the President
for not reducing the Cost of Living. Any rational minded Sri Lankan
could witness the various development projects initiated by the
Government under the Mahinda Chintana program.
After the fall of Hiroshima, the Japanese people as one nation,
underwent a lot of sufferings and hardships to bring back Hiroshima to
life. It is a brilliant example of a developed city. This shows that
hard work, determination and dedication are essential for any fallen
country to develop.
Our President is doing his best, with the backing of his loyal,
dedicated and courageous followers, who are mostly our valued
representatives. We cannot expect the President to perform miracles.
