Another milestone for Premadasa Stadium

The revamped R Premadasa Stadium will complete another milestone when it hosts the 100th One Day International encounter at this venue between Sri Lanka and England today.

The R Premadasa Stadium will become the fourth ground to achieve this distinction having earlier hosted 77 day night one day internationals.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara needs one stumping to draw level with Romesh Kaluwitharana's all-time One Day International record of 75.

Sri Lanka and England have met 44 times in One Day Internationals with England winning 23 matches and Sri Lanka 21 matches. The teams have met in two knock-out matches in ICC global events with one win each.

They have met eight times in ICC Cricket World Cup tournaments with England holding a 6-2 advantage. The teams have met four times at the R Premadasa Stadium with Sri Lanka holding a 3-1 advantage.
