The Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Ministry has started the Janasewana one million housing project. The
National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) is also assisting in this
project, the Minister added.
Weerawansa was addressing the grade five scholarship award ceremony
and felicitation ceremony organized by the NHDA Welfare Society at
Pradeepa Hall yesterday.
NHDA officers have to work as one family for the success of this
project. Their support and sacrifices are very important, Minister said.
"We have to achieve this massive goal quickly. This will be a great
support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa to develop the country. Sri Lanka
is in rapid development stage. As Sri Lankans we have a responsibility
to help in the development process," he said.
People's Bank had sponsored this award ceremony by presenting 38 Sisu
Udana Accounts, stationery and school bags. Thirty eight students and
127 pensioners of NHDA also received gifts. |
