Strike called off

Commuters have been inconvenienced due to a bus strike on the Puttalam- Colombo, Chilaw-Negambo and Puttalam-Chilaw roads.

The strike by buses was called as a driver of a Puttalam-Colombo bus had been assaulted by a driver of Vavuniya-Colombo bus. The employees of buses launched the strike in protest against the assault of the driver.

The driver responsible was arrested by the Police and thereafter the strike was called off.

Meanwhile, a bus bound to Thalawila St Anne's Church was attacked by unknown person on March 10.
