Oil drilling on schedule

The oil exploration process is carried out according to the time schedule and the work is progressing to meet the time frame.

The drilling at the Mannar basin for the oil exploration will commence in July. The current process leading to drilling is continuing as per the work schedule.

Cairns Lanka is securing necessary goods and services for drilling purposes. The work is progressing well, a spokesman for the company told Daily News Business.

The exploration drilling in the SL 2007-01-001 block in Sri Lanka is planned to commence in July 2011. A drill ship has been contracted and logistical preparations and detailed studies are ongoing ahead of the drilling later this year,” he said.
