Non-graduates to benefit:
Training for 7,030 teachers
A batch of 7,030 non-graduate untrained teachers undergoing training
are due to start the second stage of their training program shortly
after completing the first stage, said the Government Information
Department in a press release yesterday.
Accordingly Sinhala medium primary school teachers will begin their
second stage weekend training classes on March 12 at Teacher Training
Centres in Badulla, Moneragala Nuwara Eliya, Kahawatte, Poramadulla
Mahiyangana, Wellawaya, Polgolla, Bingiriya, Polonnaruwa, Kebethigollewa,
and Galenbindunuwewa. Music and dancing teachers who had their first
stage training at Training Centres in Uva, will begin their second stage
weekend training classes at the Badulla Dharmaduta Vidyalaya on the same
day.
Other teachers who attended the first stage training classes will
have to attend interviews on March 14 for admission to internal Teacher
Training.
The interviews will be held at the following centres - Primary,
Buddhism, Catechism, Social Science teachers at Balapitiya Teacher
Training School, Music, Dancing and Art teachers trained at centres
outside Uva province at Giragama Teacher Training School, Sinhala,
second language (Tamil), Mathematics and Science teachers at Unawatuna
teacher Training School.
All commerce teachers and English teachers trained at Bingiriya,
Maharagama Teacher Training School, Sinhala teachers in the English
course trained at Talawakelle at the Peradeniya Training School. English
teachers who attend weekend training classes at the Peradeniya, A'pura,
Bandarawela and Maharagama centres will begin the second stage training
at the same centres. |
