'Education should be supplemented spiritually'

Education received at the school alone will not help mould child's
character. His education should be supplemented with traditional,
cultural, spiritual, social and religious knowledge, North Central
Province Governor Karunaratna Divulgane said.
The Governor was speaking at the annual prize distribution ceremony
held at Sri Ruwangiri Daham school at Medawachchiya, Isenbessagala.
When Sri Lanka came under the British rule on March 02, 1815 it was a
member of Maha Sangha who brought the Union Jack down and raised the
Lion Flag.
Even in the rebellion of 1848, it was the Maha Sangha who gave the
leadership. |
