Deal inked for hospital at Dickoya
An agreement was signed wednesday at the External Affairs Ministry,
South Block, New Delhi to award the work to construct a 150 bed hospital
at Dickoya near Hatton.
The Agreement was signed by Joint Secretary (BSM) T S Tirumurti on
behalf of the External Affairs Ministry, Government of India and Green
Valley's Shelters (P) Limited, Chennai Managing Director K R Tirumurahan.
The hospital will be constructed under Indian Government grant.
The Indian Government has allocated INR 47.27 crores to set up the
hospital.
Hospital Services Consultation Corporation Ltd (HSCC) India is the
Project Management Consultant for the project.
The project is expected to be completed in 22 months.
Recognizing the need for establishment of a well equipped general
hospital at Dickoya near Hatton the Indian Government agreed to assist
the Government.
The establishment of a new hospital in the Central Province will
augment the facilities in the existing hospital and provide health
services to a large number of people of Indian origin living in this
area.
India has continued to extend extensive assistance to Indian Origin
Tamils living in that area especially in the sphere of education,
health, housing and public transportation. |
