Two injured in Kelaniya Campus clash

A clash between two student groups at the Kelaniya University left two undergrads injured yesterday.

One student was admitted to hospital. According to University sources, the clash had occurred between students of the Science Faculty at around 1.30 pm and continued for about half an hour.

Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said that the Police did not receive any information of a clash in the University premises.

Inter University Students' Federation Convenor Sanjaya Bandara said the Kelaniya University Student Union continues to attack students who do not agree with what the Union does at the university premises.

He said that there is no democracy at the Kelaniya University Student Union.
