Trinity College, Kandy improved on their season’s record for outright
win when they registered an innings and 47-run win over Dharmasoka
College, Ambalangoda in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match
which ended at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday.
Ten outright wins during a season is a record for a Kandy school and
the lions have kept improving this record this season.
What is the most remarkable in this Trinity side is their physical
fitness and they have now played four matches in eight days starting
from their match against S Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia last Friday.
Dharmasoka College who were trailing behind by 122 on the first
innings were skittled out for 92 in the second innings. Yohan de Silva
top scored with a solid 50 which had 7 fours off 99 balls but the rest
of the batsmen failed to cope up with the varied attack of the lions.
The Sokians who were 92 for 6 at one stage lost their last four
wickets without adding a run to their total.
