Trinity in innings win over Sokians

Trinity College, Kandy improved on their seasonís record for outright win when they registered an innings and 47-run win over Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match which ended at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday.

Ten outright wins during a season is a record for a Kandy school and the lions have kept improving this record this season.

What is the most remarkable in this Trinity side is their physical fitness and they have now played four matches in eight days starting from their match against S Thomasí College, Mount Lavinia last Friday.

Dharmasoka College who were trailing behind by 122 on the first innings were skittled out for 92 in the second innings. Yohan de Silva top scored with a solid 50 which had 7 fours off 99 balls but the rest of the batsmen failed to cope up with the varied attack of the lions.

The Sokians who were 92 for 6 at one stage lost their last four wickets without adding a run to their total.

Dharmasoka: 115 all out in 37 overs (Yohan de Silva 37, Damindu Kannangara 22, Tissa Bandara 4 for 43, Janishka Premasinghe 2 for 28, Aamil Anas 3 for 22) and 92 all out in 38.4 overs (Yohan de Silva 50, Ramesh Mendis 12, Tissa Bandara 2 for 18, Janishka Premasinghe 2 for 6, Aamil Anas 2 for 27, Akila Jayasundara 2 for 27, Ron Chandragupta 1 for 5).

Trinity: 237 for 6 decl in 37 overs (Niroshan Dickwella 31, Janishka Premasinghe 23, Keheliya Athugoda 23, Kavinda Jayasinghe 45, Ron Chandragupta 26 n.o, Ramesh Mendis 2 for 50).
