Demise of ex-MP Dhanapala Weerasekara

Former Member of Parliament for Dehiowita Dhanapala Weerasekara passed away. Weerasekara was the husband of late Joyce Eleanor Pinto Jayawardena.

He was a son of late P D Weerasekara (Rate Mahaththaya in Pelmadulla) and Mrs Weerasekara.

Weerasekara was the father of two, Ramani and Ruveni,and father-in-law of Upali Liyanage and Mangala Ratnayake.

He was the brother of late Silvia, late Dhanawardena Weerasekara, Doreen Ratwatte, Harry Weerasekara and Willie Weerasekara. He had done yeoman service to the Dehiowita area including many development activities.

His remains lie at his residence No 15, Weerasekara Mawatha, Thalawathugoda. Cortege leaves residence on February 28 at 5.30pm. Cremation at Thalawathugoda General Cemetery at 6pm.
