Ministry wants detailed reports

The Education Ministry has directed Provincial Education officials to submit detailed reports on flood affected school buildings and buildings that were damaged due to earthslips.

It has been reported that a large number of school buildings in Ampara, Batticaloa and few other districts in the North Central Province and Eastern Province have been damaged following last month's flood situation.

It was reported that some classrooms of Swarnamali Balika Vidyalaya and Siddhi Lebbe Vidyalaya in Kandy were damaged following an earth tremour that accurred on January 25.
