Envoys call on acting Deputy Minister
Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Sead Advic paid a
courtesy call on External Affairs Deputy Minister Neomal Perera on
February 15 at the Ministry.
Ambassador Advic and the Deputy Minister discussed matters of mutual
interest. In response to a request, the Deputy Minister made to consider
investments in Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador stated that arrangements would be initiated for a
business delegation to visit Sri Lanka in the near future.
Meanwhile Ambassador Janez Promoze of Solvenia, called on Deputy
External Affairs Minister Neomal Perera and underlined his government’s
desire to build up on bilateral dialogue with Sri Lanka and suggested
that foreign office consultations be resumed, in order to develop
bilateral agreements.
Minister Perera stated that an investment protection agreement will
immensely help Sri Lanka and invited the Solvenian Government to bring
in investments to Sri Lanka taking advantage of the facilities and
concessions offered by the Sri Lankan government.
Opportunities for the business communities will be created”, said the
Ambassador. A delegation from ‘Koper’ (official travel guide of the
Solvenian Tourist Board) will be brought to Sri Lanka to promote
tourism.
Ambassador Genaro Vicente Pappalardo of Paraguay, called on acting
External Affairs Minister Neomal Perera on February 15.
The Ambassador expressed his country’s interest in developing
bilateral relations with Sri Lanka. Paraguay will explore investment
opportunities in Sri Lanka and was willing to look at exports to Sri
Lanka, developing tourism and tea trade between the two countries.
The Deputy Minister requested that Paraguay consider the possibility
of including a university student’s exchange program on the agenda.
