Close to 500 schools islandwide have been connected to the Nenansa
network up to now. Nenasa is a totally non-commercial initiative of the
Dialog Group, and the company aims to connect over 1,000 schools and
500,000 students through this program. Minister Bandula Gunewardena said
technology is a key element in the restructuring process of the
education system.
The Minister commended the initiatives taken by Dialog Axiata to
support the development of education infrastructure and technology in
schools and individual support to students.
Nenasa is a state-of-the-art digital satellite television-based
distance education bridge, managed and operated by the Education
Ministry and the National Institute of Education (NIE).
Nenasa will connect 1,000 rural schools in Sri Lanka to a
high-quality rendition of the national Ordinary Level curriculum,
developed by the NIE. |
