Tharunyata Vagakeemak (a ‘Responsibility for the youth’) launching
ceremony of HIV/AIDS prevention program for the youth was held recently
at the National Youth Services Council, Maharagama. The occasion was
graced by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.
Six youth social workers affiliated to the youth clubs of the
National Youth Services Council were appointed as the leaders for
prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV, by the First Lady.
They were presented with appointment letters and medals.
The Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Yang Xiuping and Health
Minister Maithripala Sirisena were also present.
They will serve as volunteers to make aware the masses on HIV/AIDS. |
