The Mathata Titha program has achieved tremendous success and alcohol, drugs and heroin use have dropped to a certain extent, Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera said.

The PA Government is a people-friendly Government as such it always focuss attention on the welfare of the people. The Minister was addressing the Weerawila Prison open work camp in Tissamaharama recently. ”When you leave this camp you must make up your mind to live freely in society with others and to be good fathers and husbands to your children and wives”, he said.

The Minister said that most of these people must have become drug addicts due to being misled by their friends, he said.
