medicine to treat patients who are fed up with Western medicine," the
Minister said.
He was addressing nurses at a ceremony to hand over appointment
letters to 40 Ayurvedic pupil nurses at the National Institute of
Traditional Medicine yesterday.
Minister Dissanayaka said that several Ayurvedic Hospitals around the
country face a nurses shortage. Appointment letters were given to 40
Ayurvedic pupil nurses at the ceremony. Thirty pupil nurses received
appointment letters in 2008.

nursing service including training facilities.
Some nurses from the Government Hospitals have been deployed to the
Ayurvedic Hospitals during the past several years but it did not bring
required results, he said.
